What most customers want to know first

Scaffolding can feel complicated if you do not arrange it every day. These answers explain how ScaffRite approaches quotes, site checks, safety, installation, removal and access requirements.

Quotes & Pricing

Getting a scaffolding quote

How much does scaffolding cost?

The cost depends on the height, length, access, property type, job duration and the type of work being carried out. A small domestic scaffold for painting or gutter work will usually be much simpler than a full wraparound scaffold for roofing, extensions or construction access.

What information do you need to quote?

The most useful details are the property location, photos of the front/back/sides, what work is being carried out, approximate height, access restrictions, parking situation and how long the scaffold may be needed.

Can you quote from photos?

Yes, in many cases photos are enough to give an initial estimate. For more complex projects, restricted access, commercial jobs or larger scaffolds, a site visit may be needed before confirming the final price.

Do you provide free quotes?

Yes. ScaffRite provides fast, free quotes for suitable scaffolding projects. The more detail you send upfront, the quicker and more accurate the quote can be.

Safety & Setup

Safe access, proper setup and practical site planning

Is scaffolding safe for domestic properties?

Yes, when it is properly planned, installed and used correctly. The scaffold should be suitable for the work being carried out and placed on a stable surface with safe access for workers.

Do I need scaffolding for roof repairs, painting or gutter work?

In many cases, yes. If trades need to work at height for roof repairs, chimney work, fascia, soffit, guttering, painting or external maintenance, scaffolding is often the safest and most practical access option.

Can scaffolding be fitted around awkward access?

Usually, yes. Narrow side passages, uneven ground, extensions, conservatories, garden walls and tight driveways can often be worked around, but these details should be flagged before quoting.

Can people still access the property while scaffold is up?

In most domestic cases, normal access can be maintained. The scaffold layout should be planned to keep doorways, entrances and key access routes practical wherever possible.

Timing & Access

Before installation day

How quickly can scaffolding be installed?

Lead time depends on current availability, project size and location. Smaller domestic jobs can often be arranged quickly, while larger or more complex projects should be booked further in advance.

Do I need to prepare anything before scaffold is installed?

It helps to clear vehicles, bins, garden furniture, plant pots and anything blocking access to the walls or working area. Let us know about locked gates, pets, shared driveways, neighbours or restricted parking before arrival.

Do you need parking or driveway access?

Ideally, yes. Scaffolding requires loading and unloading space. If parking is limited, restricted, on a busy road or shared with neighbours, mention this when requesting a quote.

How long can scaffolding stay up?

This depends on the job and agreement at quote stage. If your project runs longer than expected, contact ScaffRite as early as possible so the hire period can be reviewed.
